Bondi House is a transformation of an existing cottage on a small site, where the original rear of the house was demolished and rebuilt to improve light, space and functionality.

The project introduces a second-storey addition, accommodating a study, bedroom, en-suite and walk-in robe. This upper level provides a more private and light-filled retreat, separated from the main living areas below.

At ground level, the rear of the house is opened up to create an open-plan kitchen, dining and living space. Large bifold doors connect this area directly to the rear deck, allowing the interior to flow seamlessly outdoors and bringing light and air into the home.

The intervention transforms what was previously a dark and underutilised cottage into a bright and functional coastal home, with a spatial arrangement that supports both everyday living and a relaxed, “holiday-like” atmosphere throughout the year.
