To The Mil was recognised in the MBA NSW Excellence in Housing Awards for a residential alteration and extension in the House Alterations & Additions $2.6M–$3M category.
Designed by Square Design and Scott Lester Architecture and built by To The Mil, the project transforms an existing beachside home into a three-level residence defined by open living spaces and a strong connection to the outdoors.
The judges praised the project as “a true extension to an existing older house,” highlighting the quality of execution, the bespoke sculptural timber staircase, extensive glazing, and the considered use of Shou Sugi Ban cladding.
