Paddington House is a renovation of an existing sandstone cottage, originally redesigned by Peter Myers and later updated to support contemporary living.
The project retains much of the earlier renovation while introducing a second storey, incorporating a bedroom, storage and bathroom. At ground level, the rear of the house was reconfigured to include a new bedroom and bathroom within the original structure.
The internal layout was carefully adjusted to improve usability without compromising the character of the home. The front rooms remain as a study and sitting room, preserving a more intimate arrival, while the original sitting room was reworked to accommodate kitchen, dining and living functions, with the staircase positioned discreetly to minimise its impact on the space.
Externally, the garden was refined and integrated into the overall composition, including the reuse of the original sandstone fireplace as a functional outdoor element. Despite extremely tight access typical of Paddington sites, the project was delivered through careful coordination and attention to detail.
The result is a cohesive and functional home that balances the character of the original cottage with a more practical and updated living environment.
