This build was for a family with young children relocating back to Australia from overseas.
The house had an existing internal layout to the living areas as poor as I have ever seen in all my years of building. Through excellent foresight of the owners, architects and builder and collaboration between the three parties, this house has been one of our favourite transformations in 40 years of building.
Removing the enclosed staircase to the middle of the living areas and opening up the living area with new skylights and a staircase has flooded the house with the light and space it so desperately needed. New rear doors to the living area leading to a new external deck and staircase has made much better use of the garden area.
The centrepiece of the house is the new sculptured spiral staircase which is among the most beautiful we have ever built. Hand built with American Oak, this staircase was a labour of love and a credit to the master craftmanship of our carpenters.
We know the family is now back home in Australia and enjoying an Aussie beach lifestyle in their newly renovated home.
