Bronte House: A Resort-Like Family Retreat

A calm, light-filled kitchen defined by a restrained material palette and generous openings that connect the interior spaces to the garden and outdoor dining area.

Bronte House was recently featured on est living, offering a closer look at a coastal family home shaped by landscape, natural materials and relaxed indoor–outdoor living.

Located in Sydney’s eastern suburbs, the residence opens to a lush garden setting where the pool and surrounding planting create a calm retreat behind its discreet street presence. The design centres on strengthening the relationship between the house and its landscape, allowing outdoor spaces to become an integral part of daily life.

Developed with Kate Bell Design, the interiors introduce a warm and layered material palette. Salvaged Sydney blue gum floorboards, limestone pavers, walnut joinery and Carrara marble bring texture and depth while maintaining a calm and cohesive atmosphere throughout the home.

The result is a residence designed for family life by the coast — a place where light, garden and materiality work together to create a relaxed and immersive living environment.
