To The Mil was featured in the Saturday Daily Telegraph – Home section, in a long-form editorial exploring the value of trust and continuity between homeowner and builder.
The article profiles a substantial residential renovation in Bronte, where the owners returned to To The Mil more than a decade after an initial engagement. Having first been brought in to rectify earlier work, Liam Flood of To The Mil was later entrusted with a full alteration and extension as the family’s needs evolved.
The project involved retaining much of the original footprint while adding an upper level, reconfiguring internal spaces, improving natural light, and strengthening the connection between indoors and outdoors. Material choices—including recycled blue gum timber, polished concrete floors and extensive timber panelling—were used to add warmth, permanence and a relaxed coastal character.
The feature highlights the importance of long-term collaboration, experience and clear communication—principles that continue to underpin how we approach residential construction.
