Paddington Terrace is a renovation of a typical inner-city terrace, addressing the constraints of a narrow site and limited access common to Paddington.

The project focuses on opening up the rear of the house to improve light, flow and usability. Steel bifold doors connect the kitchen directly to the backyard, while a continuous concrete floor extends from the interior to the courtyard, creating the impression of a larger, more open living space.

Within the existing structure, the kitchen is defined by refined joinery and a restrained material palette, delivering a clean and contemporary space while maintaining the character of the original terrace.

Above, a Juliet balcony introduces additional light and outlook, giving the rear of the home a distinct spatial quality and reinforcing the connection between levels.

Delivered within the constraints of a tight urban site, the project demonstrates how targeted interventions can significantly improve the functionality and perception of space in a compact terrace house.
